MW4 Season 1 Launches Nov 6 With 3 Maps and DMZ X01

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 gets its first season on November 6, 2026. Season 1 arrives as a free update at 12:00 AM ET (9:00 PM PT on November 5), bringing three multiplayer maps, returning modes, four weapons, the first Battle Pass, and a brand-new DMZ location called X01.

Three maps at launch

Multiplayer gets three maps on day one. Backstab is a brand-new, medium-sized 6v6 map set in a snowbound, war-torn town littered with abandoned tanks, with a layout inspired by Burgundy from Call of Duty 2. Canyon is another new medium 6v6 map, fought between towering rock walls with a river route, a cliff path, and a convoy ambush. Shoot House returns reimagined, moving the familiar three-lane layout to snowy terrain in North Korea. Season 1 Reloaded will add two more maps later in the season: Ministry and Overflow.

Modes return alongside the maps. Grind and Drop Zone are back, joined by Gauntlet, a 1v1 Gunfight mode arriving through the Wager Match Event, plus Kill Block: Crash.

DMZ gets the X01 facility

DMZ’s big addition is Designation X01, a previously undiscovered weapons facility seized by enemy forces near the northern edge of Hajin. Reached by deploying through Hajin, X01 is a maze of tunnels, chambers, and multiple floors, with cargo bays, underground labs, a clandestine weapons assembly line, and a sealed Deep Vault. Extraction points close off over time, so squads must complete the required steps to escape. Ghost serves as the Watcher for X01, guiding operators through new Orders, and the facility’s bosses include Tae-Hyun, known as Knuckle, Chol-Min, known as The Wrench, and The Captain.

Four weapons and the first Battle Pass

Two weapons headline the Season 1 Battle Pass at launch: the Cronen Osprey assault rifle and the CSG-35 SMG, a fast-firing close-range option. Two more arrive later in the season as in-season event rewards: the full-auto JAK 12 shotgun and the ZLR Talonhawk melee axe. New operator skins, weapon blueprints, attachments including two new Apex Attachments, and DMZ Survival Kits round out the season’s rewards.

Warzone’s Season 1 arrives the same day, with the maps Hajin and Zodiac joining the rotation. Season 1 is free to all Modern Warfare 4 owners, though the Battle Pass itself is a separate purchase.
