Bloober Team’s remake of the original Silent Hill is targeting a 2027 release, according to a new report. This is a report, not a confirmed date from Konami.
MP1st reported on October 26 that the game, which carries the casting codename “Project Noise,” is currently aiming for 2027, assuming no delays or changes to Konami’s production schedule. The report was covered by VGC and Polygon on October 27.
The report also claims to have confirmed the first two actors attached to the game: Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew. Fritz is a UK-based, English-German actor with motion capture experience who has appeared in Battlefield 2042, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Eve: Valkyrie, as well as the show FBI: International. Matthew has appeared in Doctors, EastEnders, and Torchwood: The Story Continues.
It is not yet known which roles Fritz and Matthew will play, and no actor has been named yet for lead protagonist Harry Mason. Possible roles from the original game’s small cast include Cybil Bennett, Lisa Garland, and Dahlia Gillespie.
Konami confirmed the remake in June 2025 during its Press Start showcase, with Bloober Team returning after its Silent Hill 2 remake, which Konami said had sold 5 million copies worldwide by January 2026. A 2027 release would fit series producer Motoi Okamoto’s stated aim of a new Silent Hill title every year: the Silent Hill 2 remake arrived in 2024, Silent Hill f in 2025, and Silent Hill: Townfall in September 2026.
Until Konami confirms it, 2027 remains a reported target, not a release date.
A 2027 target would also keep Konami’s recent cadence intact. Silent Hill f launched on September 25, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and shipped more than 1 million copies within a day, passing 2 million by May 13, 2026. Silent Hill: Townfall followed on September 24, 2026 from developer Screen Burn, formerly NoCode, co-published with Annapurna Interactive, though its launch drew mixed reviews and reports of performance problems.
The remake itself has reportedly been in the works for years. Industry insider Dusk Golem has claimed Bloober Team began work on the project in 2022, which would make a 2027 release a five-year development cycle. That timeline is unconfirmed, but it fits the scale of rebuilding the 1999 original, with its fog-shrouded town and fixed-camera atmosphere, for modern hardware.
