Final Fantasy 7 Remake Hits Game Pass Today

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade joins Xbox Game Pass today, October 29, 2026, and it is one of the biggest additions the service has had all year. Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass members can play the full game at no extra cost on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

For anyone who has never played it, this is the enhanced version of Square Enix’s 2020 remake of the 1997 classic. It retells the opening chapter of the original story, following Cloud Strife and the resistance group Avalanche as they fight the Shinra Electric Power Company in the sprawling city of Midgar. The story runs up to the party’s escape from Midgar, and it pairs real-time action with strategic, command-based combat in a hybrid battle system that was widely praised when the remake launched.

The Intergrade package includes more than the base game. It bundles FF7R Episode INTERmission, the standalone side story starring Yuffie Kisaragi, the Wutai ninja, with its own missions and its own take on the combat system. What it does not include is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second chapter of the remake project — this deal covers the first game only, so Rebirth remains a separate purchase.

One detail worth knowing before you install: Game Pass Essential members are not included. The game is listed for Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass only. Players who buy it outright get Xbox Play Anywhere support, and it is cloud-enabled, so Ultimate members can stream it without downloading the full game — the PC version asks for around 100 GB of storage if you install it locally.

This is a Game Pass debut, not a launch. Final Fantasy VII Remake originally released on PlayStation 4 in 2020, spent years as a PlayStation console exclusive, and only arrived on Xbox Series X|S on January 22, 2026. Its arrival on Game Pass nine months later closes the loop on one of the longest platform journeys in recent memory.

It is not the only game landing today. Mouthwashing, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, and the day-one release Terrible Lizards all join Game Pass on October 29 as well, as part of the late-October wave Microsoft announced on Xbox Wire on October 20. But Intergrade is clearly the headliner — a modern classic, a complete package with the Yuffie episode, and now available to millions of subscribers at no extra cost.

If you have a Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or PC subscription and have never been to Midgar, today is the day to go. We will keep tracking the rest of the October wave as it lands.
