The sold-out Zelda Switch 2 is coming back. Best Buy will have the Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 in select stores at midnight Eastern Time on November 5, giving fans who missed the first run a second chance at the limited hardware.
The return lines up with the launch of the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, which arrives November 5 exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. Best Buy is opening select stores at midnight for the game’s launch, and the anniversary console and Pro Controller will be on sale at the same event.
Midnight return, in-store only
Best Buy confirmed the restock for select US stores starting at midnight ET on November 5, which is 1:00 AM Atlantic Time. Quantities are limited, and the announcement covers in-store sales only. No online drop has been announced, and availability will vary by store, so there is no guarantee a given location will have consoles or controllers on the shelf.
The console first launched on October 29 and sold out almost immediately. This is the first themed console variant Nintendo has released for the Switch 2, which makes it one of the most sought-after pieces of hardware this holiday season.
What you get, and what it costs
The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 costs $519.99. It has a black-and-gold finish, green and gold Joy-Con 2 controllers, and a dock marked with the Triforce. The system includes 256GB of storage and a 7.9-inch 1080p display. The game is not included, so the remake is a separate purchase.
The matching Pro Controller returns as well, for $99.99. Like the console, it sold out almost immediately at launch. A version of the controller with a display stand is sold separately at $109.99, but Best Buy’s midnight event covers the standard controller.
The game launching the same night
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launches November 5, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. The 1998 classic returns with rebuilt visuals, an orchestrated soundtrack, reworked dungeons, and modernized controls, plus microphone-based music controls. Famitsu scored the remake 37 out of 40.
Anyone picking up a pre-ordered copy at the midnight launch can also try for the themed console and controller the same night, but nothing in Best Buy’s announcement says a game pre-order reserves hardware. If you want the console, check your local store before you go, and get there early.
