Warzone Ends on PS4 and Xbox One on Nov 6

Call of Duty: Warzone is leaving its original consoles. When Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 goes live at midnight Eastern Time on Friday, November 6, Warzone will no longer be playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Thursday, November 5 is the last full day to play on those consoles, ending a run that began when the free-to-play battle royale launched in 2020.

The cutoff is tied directly to Modern Warfare 4. The new game already skipped PS4 and Xbox One to focus on current hardware, and Season 1 fully folds Warzone into it. Once that integration lands, the old consoles cannot follow.

The wind-down has been coming for months. Warzone was removed from the PS4 and Xbox One digital stores on June 4, 2026, and its in-game store on those consoles closed June 25. Players who already owned it could keep installing and playing until Season 1 arrived.

This is not the end of Warzone itself. The game stays live on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and Season 1 adds the new Hajin battle royale map, the Zodiac Resurgence map, and 33 Modern Warfare 4 weapons. Player levels reset for the new season, but progression carries over to a supported platform as long as players log in with the same linked Activision account. Unspent COD Points stay within the same console family, from PS4 to PS5 and Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S.

November 6 also marks a first: Warzone debuts on Nintendo Switch 2 the same day, free to play, with the new maps and playlists. One era ends on the consoles Warzone launched on, and another begins on Nintendo’s handheld.
