Xbox has made some strange consoles over the years, but this one has teeth. Meet the Xbox Series X-BITE: a working Xbox Series X swallowed whole by a fabricated alligator more than five feet long, and there is only one in the world. Microsoft is giving it away in a sweepstakes that runs through November 10.
The idea is simple, and Xbox says it with a straight face: an alligator swallowed an Xbox Series X whole, and it still works. The console sits inside the gator’s body, visible through an illuminated Xbox Nexus, while a custom Xbox Wireless Controller covered in bite marks rests between its jaws. Its eyes glow Xbox green, with pupils shaped like the Nexus logo. The whole thing measures more than five feet from snout to tail.
Building it took a film studio. Xbox partnered with John Nolan Studio, the creature and animatronics specialists behind the creatures in The Witcher, Jurassic World Dominion, and HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series, who brought the X-BITE to life through 3D modeling, sculpting, and fabrication. Microsoft is clear on two points: no real alligators were used or harmed, and the one-of-a-kind console is best as display only.
Xbox never says the words GTA 6, and that is the joke everyone is in on. The announcement says only that Xbox is heading to Florida this November, home to incredible wildlife and stories you have to see to believe. Press coverage has been quick to connect the dots: GTA 6 is set in Leonida, a fictional Florida, and launches November 19, just nine days after the sweepstakes closes, while Sony holds the GTA 6 marketing deal. That link is the press reading the theme, not an Xbox claim.
Entering costs nothing. Follow @Xbox on X, Instagram, or TikTok, repost the designated sweepstakes post, and manually add #XbiteSweepstakes from a public account. Entries opened at 9:00 AM PT on November 3 and close at 11:59 PM PT on November 10. The sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington, D.C. who are 18 or older, with up to three entries per person, one on each platform. The winner is drawn on or around November 11 and gets 48 hours to claim a prize valued at $799.99.
One fan takes home the only Xbox Series X-BITE ever made. The rest of us just get to enjoy the strangest console of the year.
