October just got a lot busier for PlayStation Plus subscribers on the Extra and Premium tiers. Sony has revealed nine more games joining the Game Catalog this month, with one available today and the rest rolling out in two waves on October 20 and October 27. It is one of the strongest catalog drops of the year, mixing a big crime drama, a returning open-world hit, a day-one co-op release, and two classics for Premium members.
The first arrival needs no waiting. The Midnight Walk joins the catalog today, October 14, and it is the month’s most unusual pick. The adventure is set in a world built from real clay, with every character and landscape sculpted by hand and then scanned into the game. It plays in both flat screen and PS VR2, and its eerie, handcrafted look makes it a natural fit for Halloween season.
October 20 brings the heavy hitters. Mafia: The Old Country heads to early-1900s Sicily, following Enzo Favara as he climbs the ranks of the criminal underworld. It is the newest entry in the long-running crime series, and it lands in the catalog only a couple of months after launch. Joining it is Horizon Forbidden West, which returns to the service after leaving in 2024. Aloy’s machine-hunting open-world adventure is still one of the PS5’s best showcases, so its comeback is good news for anyone who missed it the first time around.
The same day also delivers a genuine rarity: a day-one launch. Mycopunk, a four-player co-op shooter, arrives on PlayStation Plus the same day it releases worldwide. Day-one catalog additions are still uncommon, so Extra and Premium members get to try it at no extra cost from the moment it drops.
Premium members get two more games on October 20 from the Classics catalog. Dino Crisis 2 brings Capcom’s dinosaur survival action to modern consoles with save states and rewind, while RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition offers the full theme-park management package. Premium subscribers also get game trials for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Mortal Shell II on the same day, with trial progress carrying over to the full games.
The final wave lands October 27 with three more catalog titles. Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 continues the toy-filled horror series just in time for Halloween, Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition bundles the acclaimed RPG with all of its expansion content, and Monster Energy Supercross 25 brings official motocross racing to the service.
There is more beyond the games themselves. Back 4 Blood owners get the Tunnel of Terror DLC free from October 21, with its other expansions discounted 95%. A Dead by Daylight community challenge runs October 20–26, unlocking a charm and costume if players collectively complete 10 million matches. And the Until Dawn movie gets a limited-time discount for Plus members on October 28.
With Mafia, Horizon, and a day-one release all landing in one month, October is a strong reminder of what the Extra and Premium tiers are for. If you have been waiting for a reason to clear some backlog space, this is it.
