Forza Horizon 6 Races to PS5 on January 26, 2027

PlayStation 5 players finally have a date to circle. After months of silence following Playground Games’ promise of a 2026 release, Forza Horizon 6 will officially arrive on Sony’s console on January 26, 2027 — and it is bringing some extras along for the ride.

Sony confirmed the date after reliable leaker billbil-kun broke the news that the PS5 port would land in late January. The move is a small delay from the original 2026 window the developer teased back in September, but PlayStation racers get a consolation prize: the PS5 launch coincides with the game’s first paid expansion, which drops on January 21 across all platforms.

Buyers who spring for the $119.99 Premium Flair Edition can start driving five days early, on January 21. The Standard Edition ($69.99) and Deluxe Edition ($99.99) unlock on the 26th. Unlike Forza Horizon 5’s digital-only PS5 release, Forza Horizon 6 gets a full physical disc edition at retail — a welcome move for collectors and anyone with a slower connection.

The port is being handled by Panic Button, the same studio that brought Forza Horizon 5 to PS5 last year, with Playground Games and Turn 10 working closely alongside them. A new 30-second pre-order spot shows the Japan-set racer running on PS5 in a 4K/30fps Quality mode, with a 60fps Performance mode also confirmed. What it does on the PS5 Pro, however, remains a mystery for now.

Perhaps the best news for multi-platform households is how connected the versions are. Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 supports cross-play and cross-save with the Xbox and Steam versions, and every piece of user-generated content is shared across platforms — EventLab races, liveries, tuning setups, garages, and estates will all be waiting on day one. Pre-ordering any edition throws a pre-tuned Ferrari J50 into your garage after you finish the prologue.

A free content update lands for all players on January 21, and Playground Games says a second paid expansion will follow later in 2027. For a series that only started crossing the console divide last year, Forza on PlayStation is looking less like an experiment and more like the plan.
